Clagsniffer
What is the safest volume level to use when using two speakers with a V4 decoder? I've heard having the setting too loud can cause damage to the decoder? I'm planning on connecting two 8ohm speakers in parallel to keep the total impedance at 4ohms which I'm told is the best impedance level for these chips. Thanks. RMweb Premium Steven B Posted November 6, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 6, 2012 As long as the impedence of the speakers matches that of the decoder you shouldn't have any problem. Just make sure that you wire both speakers so that they're in phase (i.e. one isn't pushing air whilst the other is pulling). More likely is damage to your walls from the neighbours banging on them to get you to turn the volume down! Happy modelling. Steven B.
Clagsniffer
Thanks mate, I appreciate the help. Let's hope the neighbours don't mind the sound of my three 47's and two 50's all ticking over at the same waiting to depart the station!
