charlie873
Hello All. My name is Dave " Charlie" Pearce, i'm 30 years old and North Yorks (Catterick) Based Having recently been reunited with my train set after 20 odd years, i've decided to attempt to turn it in to a model railway (Outer loop with central fiddle yard). I had to join this site as i think i'm going to need a lot of advice and ideas from fellow model rail enthusiast's. Currently pulling my hair out trying to get my ballast to look right. Look forward to chatting with you all soon. Charlie
Andy Y
Welcome Charlie, good luck with the plans and please do fire away with questions. Stick the word ballast and ballasting into the search box and have a look at what comes up e.g. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/6095-glueing-down-ballast/page__hl__ballasting__fromsearch__1 and http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/2145-track-painting-and-ballast/page__hl__ballasting__fromsearch__1 for starters. charlie873
Hello there, The ballasting going ok...ish. tried 2 different techniques and now its 2 tone. Just treated myself to a oo gauge class 66 in EWS Livery and it's too big to go around the tight corners on my layout. Nevermind. The cloud never changes in Catterick Kev, sort of reflects the mood of the place, lol.
