RMweb Premium Crepello Posted November 17, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 17, 2012 I'm thinking of getting one from Hatton's while they're £99! I did read a review by Nigel Burkin which stated that close-coupling was a problem. Has anyone cracked it?
noiseboy72
Are you talking about between the coaches or between sets? Between the coaches the coupling is the clever type that close couple in a straight line and open out in the corners. I would imagine that between sets requires more ingenuity! RMweb Premium Crepello Posted December 31, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 31, 2012 A post-Christmas update to this topic--the 4CEP is a lovely model but definitely needs closer coupling to give it that 'wow' factor; the supplied short NEMs paired with longs don't close the gap sufficiently; as the 4CEP Mark 1s are bufferless, they can be moved closer still with a short and a medium, courtesy of Bernard Taylor. Result, a great looking unit that will traverse a medium radius crossover and the small-radius points in the fiddle yard without problems.
