drewn
For a few weeks I have been asking some rather basic, naive and silly questions about operating sound off my Hornby Select unit. I can now tell you that I have converted one loco and my observations are as follows:- 1. Everything works OK from the select unit ( 9 functions anyway) 2. I can operate one sound loco and one non-sound loco ( that meets MY needs) 3. I fitted the speaker in the fuel tanks (Bachmann class 37) which wasn't too much of a chore 4. The sound effects really bring things to life By the way, what a great way to collect bits of metal lying in tunnels , etc( The speaker magnet is better than a Dyson!) Thanks to all you guys who advised me lately. I am no longer a sound virgin and might even venture to a second conversion when funds permit Merry Christmas to you all Drew
250BOB
Hi Drew I too found I was picking bits of metal up on a speaker I fitted in the tanks of a 37. So much so that the bits started dancing around and making a noise. It was necessary to remove the speaker and clean it, which wasn't a 5 minute job.
