Anglian
I have decided to pre-order for the first time and wondered what others do. For example, do you support your local model shop or go to one of the big sellers and if so who and why? I've really have no knowledge of how the pricing of Hornby Limited Editions works with pre-orders - do the bigger shops significantly discount on MRP. I'd welcome your thoughts. Thanks. Jack
I always support local shops where I can ... use it or lose it as they say ... and don't forget to factor in postage to the total cost if using the box shifters ...

Obi-Jiff Kenobi
Last few times I've pre-ordered, it's been through Model Railways Direct - had great service from them, and I'll be using them again for my 2013 pre-orders. http://www.modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/
OOgaugeJaf
I buy off a local charity group. You can contact them through their website to preorder and usually around the price of the box shifters. DLPG at www.wrlpg.com I suppose I'm supporting restoration projects also. Ozexpatriate
I try to use shops that are regionally located in points west - including Wales and Cornwall, but they need an effective web presence. As excellent as the service from companies in Liverpool or Sheffield can be, I like to patronize smaller suppliers where possible.
