Hi All

 

When I lived in Gravesend I use to visit Hoo Jn area frequently, mainly out walking the dogs, which obviously coincided with the times of the freight trains:-)

Presumably you've seen oldlugger's layout thread on St Mary Hoo, which captures the atmosphere of the whole area really well. (also a shameless plug for some of my pics of Hoo Jn in there on p4...)

 

The Cerestar tanks in the last photo above originated from Sittingbourne, where they carried starch(?) products for the paper industry.

The Allington stone has been running since the 70s (when I first saw it), and is still running today I think.
