69843
Hi all, With Blue Peter on the possible stock list for my layout, I noticed it mentioned in various places that she had a chime whistle fitted to her in 1948-50, and retained it until around the mid-1990s. If anyone knows what type of whistle this was, or even had a picture of it on 60532, I'd appreciate the help.
Ed-farms
Blue Peter did have a chime whistle fitted, I cannot confirm when it was fitted or when it worked. But in 1994 I think it was, it was rigged up to work when the engine was on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. I know this because I was there when it was fitted. The whistle was located behind the right hand smoke deflector which caused much annoyance to a member of NELPG who liked to take authentic photographs and the smoke emanating from the deflector was certainly not authentic.
