I have finally decided to build a few SPV, from another member I read you can base it on the Parkside LNER plate wagon.

I started with the chassis, the W irons first, I used MJT ones with the Parkside supplied wheels and bearings, MJT 7 leaf springs, this one Parkside STV Hybox axle baoxes and MJT brake shoes.

I cut off the original W irons, filed the back to make room and put thin plastic strip under 1mm square to mount the sole bars outwards.

Brake gear will be pivots in middle on this one, so will use the handles off the kit, the next one will use standard roller bearings and handles near the end.

My reference materials, deliberately shot to identify and encourage you to buy your own.

I have my own notes as well of running numbers.

The sides, there are 4 hinges rather than 3 per panel, heavily filed L section is used, I will do the rest of the hinge quite soon.

End, MJT Oleo buffers fitted, I lost one spring, it took me nearly an hour to find it. PHEW!

End of it for today

Next jobs are:-

Finish the hinges.

Put body on chassis.

Put triangular pieces on sole bar to body.

Brake handles.

Vacuum gear.

Couplings.

Paint.

Oh and I built it compensated!

Looking good :good: , but, the floor is bare wood so would be a faded/grubby wood colour.

Thanks only first coat of underframe as well, most of these look like they are in rust so will grotty it up later
