34theletterbetweenB&D
Discussion elsewhere on the site about gear ratios, for some unaccountable reason triggered a memory of one of our school A-level physics master's extra-curricular homework questions. Let us assume that the 'Seven League boots' found in popular reports of earlier life and times were actually a physical reality. (The concept broadly is that the wearer can advance with each step a distance equivalent to 21 miles, remarkably enough without sustaining any injury.) The origin of these reports is believed to be circa 1300: where should a research team looking for physical evidence of these items now commence searching? (First order solution, ignore external variables, show your working.)
