george stein
Writing from the USA, so don't get to see UK shows & have a proper discussion. While the new Brunel Metcalfe station looks interesting, the older "Country Station" has the advantage of other appropriate/matching building available. So, in essence, is the older PO 237 country station at all appropriate for a GWR-based small thru station or do I have to go to the Ratio kit or the newer Metcalf. Advice, please, on card-based GWR (late 1930s) kits.
Karhedron
PO237 is not really GWR styled, resembling something from the Midlands much more. (I think it is based on a Cheshire Lines design). For GWR you have several options. Ratio, Hornby Skaledale, Metcalfe. There is also the "Prototype Models" range which may be useful if card is your preffered medium. http://www.freestonemodel.co.uk/page11.htm
RMweb Gold traction Posted February 17, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 17, 2013 You could take a look at the Scalescenes GWR station. Possible to download other buildings using the same brick texture, if they aren't available in the same brick colour/texture then an email to John Wiffen (MR Scalescenes) and I'm sure he would add the brick/texture to the building you want. http://www.scalescenes.com/ Cheers Ian
