ChrisR
Can't find a thread for this, but the EG Exhibition is this coming weekend. I'll be there in the mornings helping with Tre Ponti (modern Italian HO). Do say Hi if you're there and pass by. Chris

RMweb Premium Claude_Dreyfus Posted March 16, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 16, 2013 I had an enjoyable couple of hours at the show, with a good range of layouts. A quick photo tour of what was there is below; in alphabetical order. Balnakeil - GN15. Practically everything in this photo has been scratch built. Little Binfield Light Railway - 0. In the spirit of Col. Stephens. Bohemia - 00. A taste of the city. Byegone - 00 Courthare Jc. Earl's Court - 00. I liked the multiple units on this interesting layout. Fiddlers End - N Loddon on the Fosse - 00 Loftus Road - 00. From this parish; the 377/2 is a really nice model. Pagham Harbour - 009. I liked the atmosphere of this layout. Redford Jc - 3mm. I drive through Redford on my way to railway club. Not sure it would ever justify a station, let alone a shed! I hear shouts of 'but it's not real!'. Yes I know, but it is nice though. Rixworth Green - EM. I'm sure the owner muttered something about P4 on this layout. More southern Col. Stephens inspired modelling. This one was very simple, but most effective. Sonne, Sea und Schmalspur - H0e. The German version of Sun, Sea and Sangria...I think the lighting helped with the colourful scene on this. Souk el Khemis - 009. I like off-beat prototypes, and this little layout is always a pleasure to look at. Tedbury st Mary - 00. I liked some of the little details on this...particularly the industrial sidings. Tre Ponti - H0. Fitting as Three Bridges is only a few miles down the road. I have also seen this layout before, and it is really well executed. For me there was the best layout there... Whatlington - 3mm. Lots of really nice buildings on this one. So, as you can see, a nice selection. Minor criticism was there was just a single N gauge layout, and a number of very similar offerings...only one roundy-roundy for example. That said, if you like Southern (which I do), this has plenty of interest.

GWR-Fanatic
Hi there! Just saying a quick message to say that I like the photo you took of my layout, Fiddlers End (Chrythorian Darfod), It captures the station end of the layout really well. Oh and I can confirm that it is the hand of GrahamB in the photo, and not my own (I was off looking for bargains at that moment ) and of course I thought he did very well controlling the layout, we certainly had a great time at the show, and met a lot of great people. Cheers!
