pompeystuart
Hello, does anyone know where I can locate a track diagram the old Plymouth friary station, ideally in the 1970s? Thanks
RMweb Premium Kris Posted April 3, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 3, 2013 The Tavistock to Plymouth book has one in, as do several other books about railways around Plymouth. Don't know if they go to the date you are looking for however as it was freight only at that point.
pompeystuart
http://www.oldtowns.co.uk/Mapshop_Devon/plym_friaryST-prison_1892.htm Managed to find this map, but its not the clearest or most detailed. Its also an old map, would love to locate a track diagram from the 1970s?
RMweb Premium DavidLong Posted April 4, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 4, 2013 Hello, does anyone know where I can locate a track diagram the old Plymouth friary station, ideally in the 1970s? Thanks If you go to http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html and put in the co-ordinates 248912 and 54627 you will find that there are 1:2500 maps for 1951, 1961 and 1971. Due to some changes to the site you would really need to buy a copy of the map for it to be useful. I like Friary, I always thought it would make a nice model. Phil R
Not a track plan but some good pictures here, including a few 1970s scenes http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/p/plymouth_friary/index.shtml Regards Phil
