RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted June 13, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 13, 2015 Lovely as usual how did you do the snow? The foot prints and way it sits on the tyres and ploughs are great.
franckcombe
The snow was made with bicarbonate of sodium mix with water and pva. For theshape it's a good product, Then in order to obtain a powder snow, I cover it with snow from Citadel product
franckcombe
I will exhibit the layout in France for the year 2015 : 10 and 11 October 2015 at Sedan and for the 27-29 November at 2015 Rail Expo near Paris. For the year 2016, I will exhibit in UK
franckcombe
I just come from the exhibition in Sedan. It was my first exhibition with these layout and with 3 new locos. I just forget to do video. I will do that on the next exhibition and I will post it. The layout proves that it was reliable. I have just a little gap to improve between the layout and the transfer table. For the locos, the beginnings was not top because of the running-in period but after it was ok. I have just to repair one because I have a swing with the wheel. For ny next exhibtion in Paris, I will run my lister and an hudson. I have update also my list of exhibition for 2015 2016 and 2017. So I will be pleased to see you at it. 27-29 novembre 2015 Rail Expo (Paris) Nederlandse Modelspoordagen (Netherlands) 9/10 January 2016 MONTELIRAIL 2016 15/ 16 octobre 2016 25/26 November 2017 Warley MRC (Birmingham)

railroadbill
Made me feel really cold!! Excellent, very good slow running from the rod drive loco, the back scene really adds to the feeling of place and the boat came out well. Another unusual and good layout. Like the snow and ice. North Eastern
Absolutely fabulous. If you didn't know it was a model you'd believe you were looking at a real scene, the models look so real in the photo's. Great work Franck!!!! franckcombe
I add two locos to my layout for the railexpo exhibitionin Paris
franckcombe
I also use a modified wagon from swiftsixten to load a broken locomotive
teetrix
Great modeling... I had to look twice at the Deutz to find out if it's model or prototype! Like the other locos also and the depressed flat car. The small traces of snow on the loco and everywhere are very convincing. Michael
franckcombe
Last week end I have done an exhibition in Nederland (Modelspoodagen). It was a great exhibition and an occasion to meet my friend Hans Louvet. I modified the lighting of the layout in order to do photos without having an orange photo. Instead of having 2 halogens, I left only one and I had a led light and I' m happy with the result. I had a lister that I rename with the nickname of a model railroader friend that passed away last year called "NONO"
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted January 27, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2017 Lovely and do they really need an ice box?
franckcombe
Lovely and do they really need an ice box? The ice box is in order to match the perfect temperature of the beer (not to cold no too hot)
franckcombe
After the hold up of photobucket, I post my photo on flick r. This is a selection of 4 old photos. IMG_7243 by franck combe, sur Flickr IMG_7254 by franck combe, sur Flickr IMG_7287 by franck combe, sur Flickr IMG_7229 by franck combe, sur Flickr The layout will be exhibit at warley mrc at Biringham in november. So I decide to do another locomotive typically English with a Ransomes and Rapier 20 hp. The chassis was made by my friend Jean-Pierre Duval and the kit came from back2besix. franckcombe
I have nearly finish the ransomes. The plate name was done by Ferdinand Mels. I need now to add and test the decoder and paint the beast. I want to thanks all the persons that send me photos and information. Bob McKenzie seems to appreciate this new loco and drink a beer on the seat in order to see if the locomotive is confortable ! This kit was well done except for the chassie. I had just to modifie few things according the real photos and even if there is again one mistake I will leave it. Nearholmer
The loco is superb, but my real question relates to your 'staff', who are the most realistic-looking model people I've ever seen. Eerily so. Are they produced by laser scanning real people? Or, do you have some kind of 'incredible shrinking ray', inherited from a 1950s sci-fi B movie? franckcombe
For the figures, I am a dummy so I buy the figures from the mc farlanes (tv series like lost or bob and doug mac kenzie) This brand produce the best figures on the market for a reasonable price. https://mcfarlane.com/toys/series/bob-doug-mckenzie/ https://mcfarlane.com/search/?s=lost
rockershovel
That loco is very atmospheric, very well observed. Love the figures, although I suspect that "reasonable price" is a very relative term..
