Hi,

I just thought I'd start this topic so that those who go can share their pictures and experiences, and for those that don't  can see what they missed.

Please feel free to add any pictures, including any of the convoys heading to Swanage.

I'll start you off with a poor video clip I took earlier this evening of 73213 enroute with the 4VEP 3417 "Gordon Pettit"

Heres a link th the Swanage Railway webiste

If you are going I hope you have a great time and the weather stays fine. I hope to pop down after work on Saturday but it won't be for long.

Cheers

Well I made it briefly this afternoon. The trains looked to be busy and were running just about on time.

Heres a short movie of the London Underground 20's at Norden Station.

I'll add a few more photos later.

Nice pictures Frank, though I can never get my head around seeing a Deltic other than on the ECML..... :beee:

Thanks Peter,...

Last time we went chasing them, we lost / left the binoculars (Large Naval pair) on a train to Finsbury Park. That, sort of put paid to that...as they were my mate's birthday present (From his Missus) !!!

Did manage to cop a couple previously tho', while on holiday at Pilmoor, Yorks.

Happy days....   Cheers.

What a great day out...the weather held out nicely and the timetable recovered from some early hiccups in short time too.

I was there on Saturday from 0900-1830 or so, managed to get 5 round trips in, took 90 odd photos, and a visit to the Bankes Arms at Corfe for the alefest...Art Brew's Spanked Monkey IPA is highly recommended btw... :drink_mini:

Well done all round and I look forward to next year when D8568 and 50026 appear!

As for the photos, most were of the loco portrait variety taken within station confines, nothing wrong there but I've picked a few out with people in to bring a bit of life into the scenes?

Good evening all,

A few snaps taken around Corfe Castle on Saturday. Huge thanks to all at Swanage who made this gala possible and it looks like I got the right day for the weather! Also managed to miss the steam roller accident which, I guess brought chaos to the narrow road through Corfe!

Whilst the traction engine accident is a shame for the owner of the traction engine, the comments on the article make for some amusing reading!

I'm enjoying the further pictures. A great idea to paint the class 20s in LT liveries, though I'm not sure it really suits them.

Ceptic, thanks for the shot of the M7. It really does look marvelous and that paint job was long overdue!

I didn't make it down for the gala but i was there on Thursday, my wife bought me a GREAT birthday present - a Deltic Driving Experience. A real joy to finally drive a real train...a boyhood dream of mine came true at last! And WHAT an experience driving 55019 up and down the line :sungum:
