stokie Posted May 9, 2013 Share Posted May 9, 2013 hi all I recently purchased an K`s L17 kit (GWR 57XX pannier tank) very cheaply on ebay for the purpose of learning how to solder whitemetal,but it came with no instructions and i`m wondering if anyone out there has a copy that I could purchase. AMJ Posted May 9, 2013 Share Posted May 9, 2013 I have assembled a K's kit in the past. If you can identify the major parts, cab tanks, boiler, bunker and running plates you should be able to then get the rough outline of the loco built simply. As ever try a dry run. Frames on these if it was like the LNER O4 are two pre drilled plates with spacers bearings for axles and D shaped axles. If they are the old K's D shaped ones I'd replace axles and wheels for a finer item such as Romfords. The Wheels on the D shaped axles are not good as they can go out of gauge.
