RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted May 22, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 22, 2013 Morning. Is there anything that the old, not to scale, 7 window Hornby Mk3's are useful for? Can they be made into anything prototypical? Apart from semi-cut up shells in a scrapyard? cheers N
Marcyg
I remember one of the model mags, ModelRail I believe, using them to make a 321 unit using stand alone componants. But to be fair, with that window insert being such a poor fit, you're better off not bothering
Satan's Goldfish
In a similar vein to above, the mk3 based carriages of class 317,319, Royal mail 325 EMUs, etc come out roughly to the short Hornby length. Lots of work would be needed to convert to convincing models but it's an idea i've been playing with in my head. Just been lacking any old Hornby mk3s to try it on :-(
