alfsboy
While making my first Templot templated switch using C+L plastic sleepers etc I realized I had stuck most of it using acetone instead of the Plastic Weld I normally use on ABS etc ,similar sized bottle but the acetone is much cheaper .Its no problem and is stuck firmly and the switch is looking and working well .Just thought I would chime in and let everyone know .A .....it works ,B ......I'm a wally.. Stephen Freeman
Hi, Well yes it probably will work, however I understand that it is far more injurious to health (carcegenic?) and far more flamable.
alfsboy
Have you sniffed plastic weld ?
HAB
Just looking at the data sheets, Dichloromethane (Plastic Weld) is somewhat more toxic than Acetone, but Acetone is MUCH more flammable. Perhaps a Chemist could comment further, but I think that Acetone is too great a fire (explosion) risk for use over an extended modelling session - though it is apparently acceptable for wives / girlfriend / partners to use for the removal of nail polish..
