Poppleton Nursery

For those who didn't know, Poppleton Nursery (near York) was Britain's last railway nursery. After a period of dereliction, it is now being refurbished, which includes the NG railway which once ran round it. See http://www.poppletonrailwaynursery.co.uk/. See the gallery section for an alternative use for a skip wagon(!), plus some other interesting shots.

I caught a brief view of this line a couple of years ago. I had been testing the token machine in the nearby signalbox and didn't really have time to look properly. Glad to see it is in use.

There is a 2ft gauge line at a watercress bed in north Herts that sees pretty constant use. There is no loco though, everything is mandraulic..

I wasn't aware of this railway but did visit Wolds Way Lavender a couple of years ago where they use a 7.25 miniature railway to move lavender to the distillery - illustrated here http://www.woldswaylavender.co.uk/images/2005gallery/Imagesfromthe2005seasonatW/03DeliveringLavender.html and http://www.woldswaylavender.co.uk/images/2005gallery/Imagesfromthe2005seasonatW/09%20Spent%20Lavender.html
