souwest
Hi, Can any Learned Sage advise - were the class 22 and class 29 diesels the same from the outside? I know they were different internally engines etc. Yes, you're thinking what I'm thinking with the Dapol N gauge class 22! Regards Souwest

RMweb Gold mcowgill Posted July 6, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 6, 2013 The main difference between the Class 22 and Class 21 (not 29) is that the Scottish 21 is 5 feet longer, which at 13% is quite significant. The Class 29 is a re-engined Class 21 which with one exception had the ends reworked to include a central 4 character headcode. 'CHARD
Different length, cab front layout, bodyside arrangement, body cross-section at solebar level, roof arrangement, bogies. Pretty much everything!
souwest
Many thanks for the prompt replies. A scale 5 feet is a bit much to compromise on. Oh well.
