RANGERS
I'm contemplating a rake of the Bachmann sleepers and was wondering what the typical formation of these would have been on the ECML prior to the introduction of the MK3s in the Spring of 1982. Several questions : 1) Were the rakes standard or bespoke to each working? 2) Was there any interchange between rakes, e.g. could the same rake be found on Aberdeen or Newcastle trains? 3) What was the diagrammed motive power and when did the sets become all AB and ETH (if indeed they did) My interest is in the Southern half of the ECML in the period 1972 - 84, as far as I know, only trains between various principle stations and Kings Cross worked this section by this stage, were there any others? I'm thinking in particular, were there any Motorail or similar trains to destinations other than Kings Cross
