Modelling Martin
Hello, This is my layout Robins Lane which i have been building when i came to a dilemma. Im only 13 and to be honest i don't have much knowledge about signals so i am asking if anyone knows where i should place signals on this layout? Its a small TMD layout although i would like to use tall colour signals not shunting signals even though they may be more prototypical. regards, Gary
Modelling Martin
This is the track plan:
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted September 2, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 2, 2013 Is it just sidings or are the lines there for other reasons? If it is simply a TMD layout you don't really need any signals at all although you could maybe put one where the track runs off scene.
Modelling Martin
Yes they're just sidings. Would a good position be on the kind of triangle space facing the front?
RMweb Premium Kris Posted September 2, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 2, 2013 I would suggest a single "full size" signal controlling the exit from the majority of the sidings to the fiddle area. For the other siding a ground signal would look best. Not a prototypical solution as a single ground signal after the point leading into the fiddle area would be more likely. This would not fulfil your criteria however.
Modelling Martin
Thanks yes i have one signal which i think would look quite good to control the entrance to the fiddle yard on the track adjacent to the engine shed road on the triangular platform and in the future buy one for the engine shed road as well.
