PenrithBeacon
This site http://eformulae.com/engineering/surfacespeeds.php gives a good range of cutting speeds for various metals but doesn't include nickel silver. Should I use the speed for hard brass or does anyone know the specific cutting speed for nickel silver? Regards
34theletterbetweenB&D
Like brass, nickel silver comes in a range, dependent on the copper:nickel ratio and how it has been worked. Definitely at the 'hard brass' end of the scale for the somewhat work hardened sheet ('half-hard') recommended for scratchbuilding locos in the long ago.
