wmdavies02
Does anyone know of a underframe conversion kit for the Airfix Esso tanker. RT Models do a very nice conversion kit for the ladders etc. Mike
brossard
What are you trying to do Mike? I can recommend you have a look at Mainly Trains own brand of etches for brake gear etc. (nice stuff with Iain Rice's fingerprints all over it). Bill Bedford has a range of very nice bits available from Eileen's Emporium. I have used the sprung W irons and they make up very nicely. I'm not aware of any specific kits for the underframe. wmdavies02
Thanks John, Dave Bradwell does a nice etched kit for Airfix/Dapol brake vans. Wondered if there was something similar for Oil wagons. My knowledge of underframe detail is limited. Guess it's time to improve. Mike
brossard
Even with a kit, it's always good to have a drawing or good photos of what you are trying to model. Given the popularity of these (a mate of mine is working on a rake of a dozen or so), I should say a chassis kit would be worthwhile. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest you give Dave Bradwell a call - you never know. John
