Tigermoth
Not knowing a lot about this subject i have a project to do and i would like to know the best way to go about it. Can i pass the dimensions onto someone and have them do the whole lot for me, designing and fabrication, is it expensive, what to do ? The project is for NG metal sleepers in 1/20 scale 30mm gauge, with a false bottom to allow for rail pins, this could be interesting for example in shapeways due to the finished texture being close to the aspect of rusting metal. Thanks in advance.
Etched Pixels
Shapeways has a large number of users who professional designers who will give you quotes for work. See the "Designer for hire" section of the Shapeways blog. (or have a go yourself - its not exactly a complicated shape, and you won't get the texture in the print - that's a finishing/painting problem)

Simond
Hi Looks to me like you could actually get them stamped in steel - they can rust realistically on their own! The tooling will cost a bit, but given that you are unlikely to want millions of sleepers, it can be simple soft tools Of course, it won't be insulating so you'll need r/c battery locos.... Tigermoth
I have now found someone in Germany who will take on the designing and production, thanks once again for your help.
