  1. Just found this. What terrible news and a real tragedy for the hobby, just can't believe it, a sign of the times....
  2. Trying to get into NGRM and keep getting "an error occured", anyone else having this problem, cheers.
  3. Dremel for me too, twenty odd years, don't know how it keeps going.
  4. Coudn't believe it when i saw the post, a fantastic find, the only one of these locos known to exist. Many thanks Reno@ for letting us know.
  5. Is it military, going by the concrete fence and is MV = Military Vehicle ?
  6. That loco's been nicely painted. Well done for the skips.
  7. There's no golden rule against freelance, feel free. No one should be put off doing a freelance model. Found this too.
  8. For a CSB locomotive balance is important at least in reducing dipping and pitching at the ends of the chassis, i would avoid using CSB on a 0-4-0 for that very reason and go for compensation instead.
  9. The final gear wheel could be removed easily. I can see multiple ways this could be used, for example secondary animation on a model such as boats on a river etc etc
  10. Just seen this, how sad, a real loss.
  11. There was usually one parked up in Reading depot on a saturday afternoon, i can also remember one ex works blue in 1971 going through Reading with a small train of milk tanks London bound also on a saturday.
  12. There were two, possibly more, like this. The photo was taken at St Souys quarry near Bordeaux France. The tram pole or arch came from Bordeaux trams. The gauge was 60 cm.
  13. Thought you might like this. (private collection)
  14. Don't forget where there's rivets there's something fixed on the other side !
  15. At the end of the day when you consider all the money invested into a project like the Hornby BIL or HAL surely it's just as easy to do a good job than a bad one. In anycase i'm looking forward to your venture into P4 and it may even convert me back from NG. Cheers
  16. Before deciding why don't you wait until it's finished or otherwise make your own bonnet ? You seem very negative even in my post about the Slaters wheels you gave the impression that i was being fussy in refusing wheels that don't turn round and here you are condemming an excellent kit because the bonnet is in resin and not exactly how you would like it. You must be an excellent craftsman with standards far higher than the normal mortal human being. Be positive and try looking on the bright side, it does exist you know.
  17. Isn't it a case of swing and roundabouts ? It isn't in everyones capabilities to produce the louvres correctly in this scale. There's bound to be some fussy people around who insist on exactness, but going by what i've seen already when it has been done, i think the resin equivalent is a good compromise.
