Hawick Tool Van

Can anyone help me with the type/diagram of coach which became the tool van at Hawick?

The number appears to be E971525. I originally thought it may have been ex NB but the E prefix would suggest that it is North Eastern or other pre grouping from down south east.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

It is an ex-NBR Holmes 49'4" third,  Diagram 44, 43 or 34B depending on which diagram book you consult. The 97XXX number confirms that it was transfer to the engineers before nationalisation and so it has goods stock number. I don't think any goods stock had 'Sc' prefixes.

Thank you very much Bill. The thought that it would be numbered as goods stock never crossed my mind!
