Austrag
I just received a used Class 26 today, my first and I am content with it. However, upon opening up the body to fit a decoder, I see the headcode lights and no tail lights. I also see an empty socket at each end of the PCB and possibly a half moon cup where a bulb could sit. The lighting bars over the tail lights are fitted. Am I correct in assuming that I am missing two wired bulbs and if so do they connect to the empty sockets labelled AC. Can anyone advise me please. Andrew F
Hello David. The taillamp bulbs are located in the centre at each end with a piece of silver tape at the front of them and the plug fits in the sockets marked R on the PCB. The AC socket has no wiring to it. When you get the lights working on DCC remember to turn down the relevant CV values for the lamps as the constant high voltage is a bit too much for the old bulbs. You can buy extra Heljan bulbs with wiring and plug cheap from Howes of Kidlington. Andy
