Loco of the year?

Just a bit of fun really but looking back at this years performances two locos for me stand head and shoulders above the rest, namely A4 'Bittern' and Castle 'Earl of Mount Edgecumbe'. These two locos have performed brilliantly throughout the year and dealt with everything that has been asked of them. Bittern, aside from its own bookings has substituted for a number of locos who have fallen by the wayside, Bittern has been a star performer and put in some very fast runs when allowed to do so.

Likewise Earl of Mount Edgecumbe has put in some powerful performances in a variety of settings, there have been those who have indicated that a Castle would not cope with that climb or manage that section of track; time and again 5043 has put in truly astonishing performances to prove detractors wrong.

Both these locos have been virtually fault free and have been great value for money.

So for me these two locos and their crews deserve the joint honour of preserved locos of the year, take a bow.
