A nudge nudge train to Felixstowe Creek

On Saturday 26th October DRS ran one of their periodic low level nuclear waste trains, these run about once per year and normally to Hull - this time it was destined for Felixstowe.

Engineering works had closed the line at Stratford and so all freight was diverted, so once again there were liners on the fens and that took me initially to North Fen Drove near Ely and then to Kennet for the return working.

37603 and 37607 on 6Z70, 04:00, Crewe Coal Sidings - Felixstowe Creek - loaded PFAs (+109)

The train had left Crewe late and took 66305 to Nuneaton - reason unknown - and so it was nearly two hours late when it got to me, the sun had gone but fortunately the rain arrived after it passed.

Later that day ...

Kennett

37603 and 37607 on 6Z72, 13:46, Felixstowe Creek - Crewe Coal Sidings - empty PFAs (+85)

Problems with 37607 meant 37603 attached itself on the front at Ipswich, again the train was late but was going well when it passed me, the containers had been taken off at Felixstowe.
