As you can see, I found it very hard to get the tank sides smooth enough for the lettering to stick.

Very well done especially for smoothing out the dome and boiler (mine are still in undercoat awaiting handrails. Can you tell me if you used a Hornby or Dapol Chassis and were you able to use the original body fixing screw down the Chimney or have you replaced this?

 

 

Also can you tell me where you obtained your whistles?

Thanks for your comments. It was a Hornby chassis, and I think I used the original chimney screw. Unfortunately, I can't now recollect where the whistles were from; I picked them up at a show some time ago, thinking they'd come in handy.
