RMweb Premium Welchester Posted February 5, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 5, 2017 Here is an example of the Stafford Road model. As you can see, I found it very hard to get the tank sides smooth enough for the lettering to stick.
81E
@ Bishop of Welchester Very well done especially for smoothing out the dome and boiler (mine are still in undercoat awaiting handrails. Can you tell me if you used a Hornby or Dapol Chassis and were you able to use the original body fixing screw down the Chimney or have you replaced this? Also can you tell me where you obtained your whistles? Cheers Steve Edited February 19, 2018 by 81E
RMweb Premium Welchester Posted February 19, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 19, 2018 Steve, Thanks for your comments. It was a Hornby chassis, and I think I used the original chimney screw. Unfortunately, I can't now recollect where the whistles were from; I picked them up at a show some time ago, thinking they'd come in handy. Good luck with your build. They're lovely little engines.
