Just found this excellent thread. Whilst having found the overall dimensions of 48x14" amongst the brilliant images, have I missed the "fiddle" bit. I can see a partially hidden point, is that the only one so is it a single line fiddle using a loco lift ? Track plan ?

Yes, it's a signal road fiddle yard the same length as a Peco Loco-Lift (which just fits a small loco and 3 short wheel base wagons). I think there might be a few views of the fiddle yard in one of my early update videos, but can't quite remember

Whilst displaying Compton Quay at the Burnham Model Railway Show, a number of exhibitors and visitors to the event, brought along locos and stock to have a quick run on layout.

I know this post is a little Ltd, but have been rereading your thread as the simplicity of track plan and the pleasing arrangement of the (Metcalfe) buildings plus the cobbled inset rack is inspiring (and helping me to visualise my own dock based shunting layout).

What I noticed in the video are the - what I think are/were - limited edition Dapol vans in private owner liveries (I'm guessing they are because recently seen some on eBay at silly prices!). I have a plain old BR livery Dapol van, but am having issues with "droopy coupling" a little like what I could see in your video. Do you have any suggestions how to fix this, or has this not been an issue for you?

Many thanks thanks indeed and glad you like layout. Simplicity was key for this one :)

As for the Dapol wagon, they are a friend of mine's, but I do have a number of other Dapol wagons. I've seen a number of people with this issue, and I think the best thing one of them said is to pack the coupling with thin bits of card.

Hope it's of help!

A short running session featuring my recently completed Fry's Sentinel, on Compton Quay my 00 Gauge Dockside Micro Layout.
The model is based on the same design of Sentinel locomotive that was used at the Fry's Somerdale Chocolate Factory in Keynsham, which was recently restored to full working order on the Avon Valley Railway, near Bristol in 2019, turned out in Fry's Royal Blue with Gold Leaf insignia. Constructed from the new 3D Printed Body Kit from Hardy's Hobbies, the model fits directly onto a Hornby Ruston chassis, with no modification necessary.

Hope you enjoy!

In this video we see the Peckett hard at work shunting a selection of wagons around the Quayside Warehouses.
Hope you enjoy!

A short running session featuring my Hardy's Hobbies - Fry's Sentinel, edited with Real Sound.
Sounds are provided by the real locomotive, which is preserved on the Avon Valley Railway, near Fry's Somerdale Chocolate Factory where she once worked.
Hope you enjoy!
