ThePurplePrimer
Hi guys I just bought a fantastic book ( Southern Infrastructure ) that has a great picture of Headcorn station in it that shows an amazing setup with a two wagon turntables that cross the main lines ! There is a picture on the signalbox website from some time around the period but I am a bit confused by it I gather there was an interchange with KESR one one side of the dual main lines but it looks a bit like there was some kind of interchange ( goods maybe ) on the other side - or was that just a long siding ? It looks more like it might lead somewhere Can anyone explain the setup to me please
howardb
There were tracks on both side - on the down side there was a long siding with a run round and a goods shed - at the end of the goods shed was the wagon turntable. On the opposite side of the a main line was the KESR station and interchange sidings. I looked at modelling it as a typical SECR station but couldn't fit it into less than 25 ft.
