RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted February 1, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 1, 2014 Good afternoon. I know this is probably very simple but I don't want to damage something. I have a Bachmann DCC Sound fitted loco 37049. How can I change it back to ordinary DC working? I can supply pics of the circuit board etc if required. corax67
It's a 21-pin decoder if memory serves, so all you need is a blanking plate - gently ease out the decoder plug from the circuit board and then pop the blanking plate in its place. If it's an 8 pin then the same procedure but a different blanking plate. I think the speaker is just held in with a sticky pad so that will lift out easily too. It's a nice easy job. RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted February 1, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 1, 2014 Oh that's good; how easy!! Yes it is 21 pin. I suppose I can get a 21 pin blanking plate from a supplier like DCC supplies? The speaker was a different one fitted in the tanks. I'm going to leave that in. Thanks matey Phil

RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted February 1, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 1, 2014 I'm selling my EM loco's Some are being re gauged to OO. Most are having the sound taken out sadly (I think it's the expense?) and that's why I asked the question. I've put sound in but not done the reverse! Thanks again buddy.
