Derailment on the Chemin de fer de Provence.

I've just seen on the BBC news that there has been a derailment on the CP this morning with two people killed and nine injured.  There are some details here (in French) :

Apparently, the train was hit by a falling rock.

They don't have a lot of luck on that line, it's only about 15 years since huge stretches were washed out in flooding of the Var river. The French government had to step in with financial aid then.

 

This latest incident is saddening.

 

The CFP is a line I've studied extensively, with photos of most bits of rolling stock and a few visits over the years.
