1ngram Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014 After reading so many positive things about BRM I bought a copy of the April issue. Nice mag but some quality control in the photos is in order especially in the Glen Roy layout article. One page 48 the seated figure's boot paint extends up over his trousers and on the title page the standing lady in the blue jacket has a very prominent mould line on her head and shoulder that has not only not been removed but been painted on. This spoils the whole effect. Most plastic figures are a disaster in this scale with very poor definition and many early metal figures are no better so if you want them to look at all realistic its important to go over them carefully, removing such as mould lines and painting them accurately. Wargamers, for example, have developed excellent techniques for painting miniatures and the model railway fraternity should take a few tips from them.
