C&WR
I'm a big fan of Scalescenes TX06 Aged Red brick if that helps. I used it on these two buildings, and it is really quite true to the originals in overall feel although I didn't check the bonds were correct:

C&WR
If you want a paper in 3D you might have to head down the route of hand-scribing. Good luck with that! It's a contentious view, but I feel in 4mm most of the textured (as opposed to printed) materials except for big old stonework can appear too crude. Let's face it, how big is the recess into a mortar course on a real building? Now reduce that to a scale depth and it really is negligible. Someone (probably Chubber) explained how they give texture to printed sheets by very carefully embossing a whole brick here & there. Perhaps that could be the way ahead? You may also have look at the roof a made for a cottage for my diorama Northall Dock: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1325/entry-12539-northall-dock-%E2%80%93-clay-tiled-roof-compromise/
