Back home after a very fun and milestone weekend. A combination of model railways, real ale and a birthday, certainly one that builds lasting memories. We even received official recognition from the Liverpool club for our all year round wholesome support for all things scouse...

Popped in Saturday morning and was impressed by the organization, venue, traders amongst other things-as I'm there with 'Kinmundy' next year this was well worth the visit

Got clobbered to operate the lovely P4 Waterloo Street too-not that any excuse was needed!

Also picked up a J27 for a future project-watch this space!

Many thanks to Jean and the lads for looking after Waterloo Street and its crew so well. This was an excellent show in a venue that is full of character(s).

I enjoyed the Scottish theme to the show, but the stand out layout for me was Barton Road. A really great idea, well observed and executed. Looking forward to seeing it again sometime and having time to watch it in operation.

It was good to catch up with so many RMwebbers over the weekend, especially Martin for helping out with the shunting roster :)

Interesting evening out in Crosby as well. Is it usual for Italian restaurants in Liverpool to have a kebab section on the menu?

I'll second the praise for Barton Road, which is a very imaginative design and very nicely done - my favourite at the show. I was also taken with Waterloo Street: I'm not usually a huge fan of "backwater" type layouts, but this is just so beautifully modelled.

A big thank you from Rob and myself to the Liverpool club for the excellent weekend, very well organised and a very friendly show!

A further thanks to those who came and had a chat with us on the layout, and for the very kind comments about Barton Road. We're still getting used to operating the layout and there are still a couple of little niggles to iron out, but things are starting to settle down now after we carried out a series of mods based on problems we experienced after a few sessions last week. Your comments are most appreciated, as are the invites!

The next show will be at Derby in two weeks time, then Manchester transport museum the following weekend.

Cheers,

Benn.
