All weathering done with brush washes - looks ready to work 7V62 Bescot - STJ!

But the camera is cruel particularly on the nose end shots!

Hi Phil

Looks great and very impressive, I want one!!

What's next??

Cheers

Paul

Currently going through 60 odd locos making sure they all conform to Abbotswood quality standards!

1. Programmed in to new ECoS including all functions mapped and speed tuned so that ECoS display equates to actual speed

2. Crew at both ends - have consumed significant numbers of Bacchy 36-408 1950s loco grew packs to do this, modelling room floor littered with lower abdomens and limbs! Nearly lost a pack at West Somerset Railway yesterday when it got left on the train!!!!

3. Etched works plates and name plates of course

4. Wire coupling loops and screw couplings fitted

5. Correct headcodes

6. Weathering

And then some of those still need chipping

Its a big job but am winning....

Latest Abbotswood video here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUlhEb_aZRcBJsABZbLQU8g - but D200 conspicuous by her absence! Was rostered for the Carlisle - Swindon milks but the well publicised pick up gremlins put paid to that despite a good performance on the test track

What to do? looked at the well considered solutions on here but also came across this ...

http://www.esu.eu/en/products/accessories/powerpack/

Am aware that others have built their own capacitor based solutions but this is ready made for idiots like me.... So spent the readies. How about installation? Plan was to sit it on the chassis block at opposite end to speaker but too tall - so cut off plastic shrink wrap and bent capacitor over so now in line with circuit board rather that on top of it. With it insulated on top of a double sided sticky pad the body now fits again.

Effectiveness? Prior to fitting power pack was losing power on the test track. I added a further challenge by Insulating a length of the test track with a couple of strips of sellotape on both rails spaced so that both bogies were insulated at the same time. 10 mph - no worries, excellent, just ran straight over. D308 which is on the original chassis stalled at the same challenge.

So looks like could be a ready made easy fit solution for those of us running on DCC

Wanted to do a video with the sellotape on the track but camera misbehaving so watch out for her in the next Abbotswood video

Cheers

Phil
