On30runner Posted January 28, 2010 Share Posted January 28, 2010 after a bit of a think as to what my next On30 loco will be (bringing the total to 8) I found the Backwoods "Doodlebug" railbus conversion kit. This converts a Bachmann combine into a diesel railcar: http://www.backwoodsminiatures.com/xrcconv.jpg I was recently discussing fitting RC to a Lima O gauge 33 with my mate, when I looked at one of my Bachmann passenger cars and inspiration hit me. On30 affords more room and the coaches are quite large inside. Could I fit RC to the Doodlebug? Ah I thought, but you'd see it through the windows, well Bachmann has catered for this problem! http://valleymodeltrains.com/catalog/images/160-26499.gif The baggage car has no windows! I have ordered one from the states (price was less than buying new here even with the postage so a savings made there) and will order the conversion kit in due course, I have already checked that standard RC gear will fit (borrowed from one of my boats) and it appears it will.
