martyn11post
Hi I'm trying to find drawings/photos of the D class. Not a met modeller (sorry...) but intrigued that one of the class (75), saw out her days in Port Talbot steelworks (more my scene). I might attempt a scratchbuild in OO if i can find enough info. Heres what i've found so far: First Scratchbuild (Probably the last!!): MET Class D Metropolitan steam Photo of Met 75: http://www.ltmcollection.org/photos/photo/photo.html?_IXMAXHITS_=1&_IXSR_=fQJOt1z9Gfq&IXsummary=results/results&IXsearch=metropolitan%20railway&_IXFIRST_=19&IXenlarge=i00006ga Any pointers greatly appreciated, Martyn
Xerces Fobe2
Hi Martyn I suggest you join my colleagues on the District Dave Forum which is devoted to the London Underground and many of us are modellers too. http://districtdave.proboards.com
RogerE
There are photos of the D class in: Chris Heap's London Transport Railways Album The Last Drop Frank Goudie's Metropolitan Steam Locomotives - includes more dimensions and info than the other books Martin Smith's Steam On The Underground. There are also pictures in the Pilgrim Trilogy, but can't remember which ones. As they were basically Barry Railway locomotives built by Sharp Stewart, I daresay there are plans around somewhere. Possibly in some GWR archive. It is one of the locos I intend to, eventually, build for my Great Missenden 1920s layout, as they just about lasted until 1923. However it is worth remembering that at least two of them were reboilered with E class boilers between 1910-1916
