More from the antipodes...

Following on from Rhys' excellent scratchbuilt NZ120 rolling stock ( http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/8041-antipodes-workbench/ ) here are some picture of Fremo modules in said scale. These aren't finished yet, and are freelance models based on the north of the South Island. You can also see some (also unfinished) Trackgang NZR models in these pictures, including a Dx locomotive and some four wheel wagons. NZ120 as a scale is having a bit of a renaissance at the moment because of the efforts of various local modelers.

Hi Grant,

i wondered where you had got to - that looks stunning. See you at the convention?

Kev

Hi Kev, I had a bit of a break from modelling but it sucked me back in after I went to the Christchurch train show last year and saw the NZ modular layouts. I'll definitely be at the convention. I've been posting about the building of these modules over at NZ120.org I plan to build enough modules to form a loop, and then run some trains!

More from NZ. I'm now adding various detailing to the modules.

Everything I hear about NZ tells me it is a beautiful country, and your modules are going some way towards representing that, in a scale/gauge that is unfamiliar to most in the Northern Hemisphere. This is all looking very atractive - and the trains aren't bad, either! Keep us posted, please.
