The Lurker
Well the first test is starting up the road about now, a few clouds in the sky and apparently a green pitch. Sri Lanka have won the toss and put an England side containing three debutants in to bat first. It'll be interesting to see how the new England line up cope with the conditions and the opposition. Sri Lanka are not the strongest test bowling attack but no reason for complacency. It's just a shame I'm in the office!
trisonic
Unfortunately England are not inspiring confidence, right now, even in New York........... Best, Pete.
The Lurker
England 195-4 at tea on the first day - mixed fortunes, a lovely 50 from Bell and now some stability from Ali and Root. The first day's play could go either way and I suspect that the pitch will hold no demons from about midday tomorrow, so whichever team is batting then should get a big opportunity to establish a big advantage
trisonic
344 for 5 - even more better at close...... Brazil’s defence looks bloody awful right now too... Best, Pete.
