Matador
Can someone point me in the direction of a Rivet Embossing machine for Brass , some are available here in the US but are kind of hit and miss quality wise. mike morley
I've got the MicroMark one and would put it on the list of those to avoid. If the pictures on the web are any guide, it is identical to the (considerably more expensive) NorthWest Shortlines one.
buffalo
A quick search on "rivetting tool" would find you many previous discussions, like this one. Personally, I have several different types, each has strengths and weaknesses, though most of the time I use my trusty old scriber with a blunted point. Jol Wilkinson
In the UK the GW rivetting press is well regarded. I have one and am very pleased with it. Unfortunately George Watts doesn't have a website but you can find his address and phone number here (look under GW); http://www.clag.org.uk/russ/supplier.html You'll also find Dick Ganderton listed as a supplier of a rivetting tool but I don't know if it still available. hayfield
I have a London Road models one which is quite inexpensive and works, but if you will use it a lot the ones with stops like the GWR models one may be worth the extra money
bécasse
I swear by the GW Models one but use it more for accurate marking out than embossing rivets - although it is superb for its intended task as well. Even the 4mm version is distinctly heavy though, so I suspect that you would find that shipment costs to the US are so high that you would think that you are buying the plane it is travelling on.
