Afternoon all,

Funny what you see passing the garden when you're least expecting it, had to make a mad dash for the camera. Excuse the crudeness of the photo please folks, i've just been playing with the new camera. 60163 Tornado passing Southwaite, Cumbria 5/7/14. post-12608-0-04004000-1404575619_thumb.jpg

Seem to be getting the hang of the camera a bit better now, so decided to have another go and see what shot i could get. Unfortunately not the best as it was a damp overcast day up here in Cumbria, i also managed to blur the number.....all told not bad considering i only got my first digital camera a few weeks ago. Just ordered myself a tripod so maybe i can get the photo's a bit steadier....or not. Anyway enough of my ramblings, any hints, tips, witticisms or criticisms are gratefully received to a novice photographer.  66847 on the Chirk log train 8/7/14.

                                    Thanks.

Another outing in the garden with camera again today. The sun didn't shine so much, then again neither did i. Seem to have found a knack for getting overhead line masts in every shot i take over the last few days, most annoying. Anyway here's my attempt, feel free to comment.

Here's couple from yesterday, somehow my photo's are all mixed up and out of order. Just reference ones these for some TEA tanks i'm weathering.

Evening all,

Had a trip down to Citadel Station, Carlisle this evening and found the following 3 locos on show. Unfortunately as i had not set out to go photographing the light was disappearing quite fast when i shot these between 2100 to 2200 hours. Particularly like the Colas glow in the dark lettering which i only discovered tonight. Anyway see what you think of these :-

Yeah i'm quite fortunate that i don't need to go far for train spotting, just over the fence and i've got the west coast main line right there. Just trying to get to grips with the new camera really, not been getting much time lately though as i've just set up as a self employed courier, so i'm driving from daylight until dark.....sometimes longer.
