Torr Giffard LSWR 1951-71
Aft'noon all, Just back in from a second morning helping out with the setting up of what should be a superb traditional show tomorrow. Those visiting should be aware that the line of trees at the bottom of the field mark the embankment of the former Churnet valley railway (Macclesfield to Uttoxeter) south of the town and will be the site of the planned Leek Sth station on the current Churnet Valley preserved railway. The former railway is currently a footpath. Narrowboaters...the show ground is a short walk across the embankment from the end of the Caldon canal, Leek arm. Look forward to seeing anyone able to attend Dave
