cheesysmith
I have seen these advertised for sale, and was wondering if anybody has pictures/photos of these wagons? Are they related to the old airfix tank wagon? What prototype are they modelled on and how accurate? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer a curious mind. cheesysmith
Thanks for that. Tried a search and came up with photos of anything but the wagon I was after.
Il Grifone
There are lots of spurious pictures on the Google image page. The wagon actually looks like this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIX-TRAINS-OO-GAUGE-TOTAL-GREY-TANK-WAGON-/131121164079?_trksid=p2054897.l5677 It comes in several livery variations. Scroll to the bottom here. http://www.trix.co.uk/ (Select 'Trix Models' and then 'wagons'.)
Fat Controller
The underframe's very wrong- it has secondary spring hangers, amongst other things - but, if it's made of the same material as the PO coal wagons, incredibly free-running.
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted July 28, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 28, 2014 All the Trix wagon chassis and carriage bogies (Commonwealth which were not then available elsewhere) were made of this nylon-based plastic. Very free running indeed and way ahead of its rivals. Such a shame that they used a peculiar hybrid scale.
