ColHut
Dear All, Does anyone know the prototype origin for the Bachman 14ton Mex Lamp Oils wagon by Bowring company? I am trying to date this, and based on this site (http://vintagegarage.co.uk/histories/bowring%20petroleum%20co%20ltd.htm) I would guess about 1921? I'm guessing probably for a class B product like Kerosene. Regards
66C
I think Kerosene is a Class A product - this would affect the livery colour and the load/discharge valve arrangements on the tank wagons used. You may find some information in Tourette's book on private owner tank wagons - a look on Amazon should get you details. Regards.

ColHut
Thanks guys, I took the likely classification from here http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/gansg/6-livy/odds/9-tankliv.htm, which indicated Kerosene as class B, but I am no expert!
