Thought I would mention that the Avon Valley Railway at Bitton, between Bristol and Bath are running their 1940's event this weekend.

L150 (Bill Parkers small prairie in London Transport Colours), Earl David (Barclay built Austerity saddle tank) in steam with one other of our locos.

I missed the American half track arriving, just seeing it vanishing down our incline later in the afternoon.

These photos will give you a general view of the vehicles we have on show this weekend.

I will post another group of photos showing the railway side.

Two engines in steam. Earl David, a Barclay built Austerity saddle tank and Bill parkers small prairies in London Transport livery.

We also had Grumpy our 1941 Baguley which took its turn on the two coach local passenger train. Usually Grumpy is used for shed pilot and light shunting duties.

Thanks for posting those pictures Gordon A. It looks like it was quite an event, wish I could have been there.  I haven't been to Bitton in 15 years or so now and the last time I was it was a Thomas day!!......oh well, it was still a good day.
