steve W
Ed, Kensington (Addison Road) was one of London's longest stations having a platform release crossover about halfway down the platforms which could hold two passenger trains. We have modelled only the southern end of the station; fortunately the LNWR put the buildings and an overbridge roughly in the centre where the release crossovers are which provides a convenient scenic break. The two fidddle yards are each 9ft long turntables with around 25ft of modelled station and track. The tracks run at a slight angle and have front and rear add-on scenic boards bringing the overall width to 5ft. Cheers Steve W
TEAMYAKIMA
The last running session saw a new loco turn up ...... And at the last work session 100 3D printed got painted and fitted - weathering to follow! Then the new fascia turned up ......... and got trial fitted ...... two sections got as far as being lit up ..... And it transformed the look of the layout ..... And our member who lives in Chicago paid us a visit and brought a hut with him ..... Edited September 26, 2017 by TEAMYAKIMA

glo41f
A superb effort by all concerned. It is surely destined to be one of the premier layouts in 7mm in the country. I am so impressed with the dedication and the skills of the team producing this. Truly wonderful and thank you for sharing with us. TEAMYAKIMA
A superb effort by all concerned. It is surely destined to be one of the premier layouts in 7mm in the country. I am so impressed with the dedication and the skills of the team producing this. Truly wonderful and thank you for sharing with us. Martin Long Hello Martin (and others) Many thanks for your nice comments and thanks on behalf of the group and the club. However, from TDMRC's point of view (and this holds true for most if not all clubs) we build layouts (in part at least) to attract new members to help build the layouts we're building and exhibit them. And in that sense the group and the club are slightly surprised that in the ten years since this project has only attracted one new member to the club - and he lives 99% of the time in Chicago, USA! Yes, the group has recruited existing club members from other groups within the club, but only one dedicated 7mm modeller has joined in all that time and it's a mystery to us all. So, this is an invitation to all RMwebbers who are reading this to come along one Friday night and meet the team and maybe join us - or come and see the layout at the upcoming Farnham MRC exhibition, the layout's first showing at a general public exhibition. If this layout is to have a long successful life on the exhibition circuit it needs to build up a larger operating team, so please consider joining us - we don't bite! Honest! TEAMYAKIMA
I have been corrected by the Addison Road group leader ! I constantly try to sell 'country membership' to Twickenham & District MRC on the basis that you can still be part of 'the team' even if you live miles away and I use as an example AR group member who I say lives in Chicago (Illinois). Well apparently, that is out of date information. I've been told that he has moved to Boston (Mass) - to be nearer the club! TEAMYAKIMA
I can't believe it's nearly 3 months since our last post !! The group has been working towards our first BIG exhibition - Alexandra Palace in April. Our man in the USA - John Harding - has been at it again ...... a fogman's hut.......... And there's been another new loco seen at Addison Road - a Super D, and it really is super! But there's more to building a portable exhibition layout than just fine modelling .............. things need to be stored and transported safely .............. Brandon and Keith have been working away in the background to make things safer and neater .... Edited January 17, 2018 by TEAMYAKIMA

TEAMYAKIMA
Just a quick update to say that the Addison Road group will be having a static display at Twickenham MRC's open day on July 21st. We were running last year and this year the spotlight turns to 4mm and 2mm and so we will have time to relax and more time to chat. So why not come down and meet the team. TEAMYAKIMA
If a problem arises with the layout, the AR group are not afraid to go back and re-do things. So it is with the 4th rail on parts of the layout. The original version gave some problems especially in the recent hot weather when expansion caused breakages and so the group have gone back and are in process of upgrading it all.
