Rumblestripe
I've recently started using Artists' Gesso as a primer on wargaming figures and have found it superb. It is an acrylic primer that gives a lovely "tooth" for brush painting. It comes in Black, White and Transparent flavours and oddly shrinks to fit so you can slap it on quite liberally and it shrinks as it dries to give a really good and well adhered covering. As with anything acrylic it has no nasty smells and can be used when it is too damp and/or cold for spray painting. Wonderful stuff! I've not tried it on anything larger than a 28mm figure, has anyone tried it on Rolling Stock or scenery?
pointstaken
I've used it on Walthers styrene kits, seems to adhere quite well, and provides a good key for acrylic top coats. Got mine, in a neutral grey, from our local crafts shop. Dennis
